Lowell MA

In 2012 Charters Brothers successfully completed the construction of a new Pharmacy and Retail Market on a challenging site in Lowell, MA.  The building was a typical wood framed structure, with roof trusses, brick veneer exterior complemented by attractive accent metal work and copper roofing.  On the interior, our team helped accommodate new freezers & coolers along with owner provided shelving for the retail space and installed mill work, dividers, shelving, among other typical pharmaceutical requirements at the pharmacy area.  Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing were completed on a Design-Build basis.

The site itself posed it’s own challenges as an old garage building had to be demolished, the discovery of buried gas tanks requiring the services of a local LSP to monitor hazardous materials removal operations, and a unique parking lot construction design that entailed a pervious pavement system capturing all storm water runoff on site rather than the use of city utilities or major onsite drainage systems.
