Karls Sausage Kitchen and European Market
Peabody MA
In the Spring of 2012 Anita and Bob Gokey, owners of Karls Sausage Kitchen and European Market selected Charters Brothers as their Construction Manager to oversee construction of their new 7,000 sf facility in Peabody, MA. Charters Brothers worked closely with the owners and the design team to bring the project from conception to completion.
The work included: a new USDA inspectable sausage kitchen and state of the art German smoke house, a new bar and eatery, deli, European market and back offices. Challenges included; an extremely tight deadline, complicated site logistics, public safety, coordination and scheduling of a weekend shutdown of their existing facility in Lynn MA and relocation to the new facility in Peabody, MA..

“From the beginning we were impressed with how quickly Brad and his team understood our needs and focused on framing our project for success. Within the first two weeks we encountered signification structural issues that took 5 weeks to resolve. During this time Charters Brothers demonstrated their ability to focus on mission critical issues first and involve the right subcontractors in the discussions to find the best solutions for our project. This collaboration on design and construction issues continued throughout our project. We are so pleased to say that despite the unforeseen structural issues and subsequent changes to scope, Charters Brothers completed our project on time.”
