Torrington Properties hired Charters Brothers Construction during the Summer of 2023 to provide Construction Management services to construct a 134,204 square foot podium style multifamily residential (condominium) building in the heart of the Portsmouth Green mixed use development.

The building includes resident parking and amenity spaces beneath a steel and concrete podium structure and ninety-five (95) wood framed housing units above as well as an amenity deck at the second level. The envelope consists of fiber cement siding, TPO membrane roof, energy efficient windows, and prefabricated unit balconies.

As part of the approval process with the City, the project was also required to provide several hundred feet of bike path adjacent to Constitution Ave as well as related road and utility upgrades.

Keys to success for the project included developing a positive working relationship with City building officials, as well as the neighbors operating in close proximity to the site, lead by CBC’s field staff.
