Breaking Ground: Central Plant Tunnel Utilities Replacement UNH Durham

We’re excited to announce that we’ve broken ground at the recently awarded Central Plant Tunnel Utilities Replacement project at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. Due to our aggressive pre-construction efforts, we were able to hit the ground running and accommodate the long lead times on key materials. This project includes extensive excavation efforts to replace the aging utility lines feeding some of the most critical buildings on campus. Extending through the heart of the campus, this multi-phase work is required to be operational for the next heating season, and substantially complete by the end of the calendar year. We’re grateful for another opportunity to partner with the University of New Hampshire and our first opportunity to collaborate with RMF Engineering, Inc. Stay tuned for future updates on critical milestones!

Retirement: Kathie Vezina

The Charters Brothers team recently celebrated the retirement of one of our longest tenured and most treasured members, Kathie Vezina, formally our Office Manager. Kathie joined the team over 15 years ago shortly after the company’s inception. As the business grew, so did Kathie, always adapting to new circumstances and open to the next challenge, taking on more and more responsibilities over time, eventually being involved in everything from the company books to making sure everyone had the supplies they needed to get the job done. Although Kathie happens to be the mother of the actual “Charters Brothers”, she also adopted the motherly figure for the rest of the team, helping instill the family environment that’s part of our core values. We’ll forever have a debt of gratitude for all Kathie has done, she’s truly someone who’s irreplaceable and will always be missed at the workplace. Fortunately, during these bittersweet times, we’re happy to see her turn the page to the next chapter of life as she looks to fulfill some her own dreams, kicking off retirement by traveling the country, amongst other great adventures that lie ahead. Happy retirement Kathie (Mom), we’ll forever miss you here at Charters Brothers but, are thrilled for what’s to come for you!!
