2025 ABC NH/VT Excellence in Construction Award:
Hyla Brook Estate
Thursday, October 24, 2025
Charters Brothers Construction has been awarded the ABC NH/VT Excellence in Construction Award for our work on Hyla Brook Estate, a stunning wedding and event venue in Derry, NH.
Next to the historic Robert Frost Farm in Derry, New Hampshire, CBC brought Hyla Brook Estate to life—a purpose-built wedding and event venue that blends New England charm with modern performance. The vision was to evoke the warmth of a post-and-beam barn while meeting today’s hospitality demands. The event hall’s soaring exposed wood trusses deliver that timeless character, while also concealing lighting, sprinklers, and MEP systems with precision. A two-sided stone fireplace, custom millwork, and refined finishes add to the sense of craftsmanship and comfort.
Building on raw land came with challenges: ledge removal during excavation, winter construction requiring enclosures and heat, and complex sequencing to integrate high-end finishes in exposed spaces. Charters Brothers managed each phase carefully, ensuring deadlines were met for the 2024 wedding season. Now a sought-after destination for weddings, corporate events, and retreats, Hyla Brook Estate has been celebrated for its architecture and atmosphere—standing as both a cultural tribute and a lasting investment in the region.
A huge thank you to the venue’s amazing owner, Kim Livesey, the architect Bruce Ronayne Hamilton Architects, our incredible team and trade partners who made this achievement possible!
